Qualifications

• Production software experience in live environments.
• Strong fundamentals in architecture, system design, debugging, and testing.
• Experience with large or complex existing codebases.
• Backend or full-stack engineering with modern languages/frameworks.
• Experience building web applications and SaaS products.
• APIs, architecture, integrations, data modeling, and distributed systems.
• Relational databases and production data environments.
• Automated testing and modern software development practices.
• Cloud, CI/CD, deployments, and production operations.
• Ability to reason about trade-offs and take ownership.
• Product mindset: understand why to build.

Responsibilities

• Navigate, understand, and evolve a large existing production codebase.
• Design and implement new product capabilities across the SaaS platform.
• Make pragmatic architectural decisions as the product scales.
• Identify technical debt and reliability issues for improvement.
• Use Claude Code, Codex and AI agents extensively in development.
• Leverage AI agents to explore code, design, refactor, and test.
• Build and evolve backend services, APIs, data models, and workflows.
• Contribute across the application stack when needed.
• Strengthen automated testing, observability, and production readiness.
• Improve workflows, tooling, and engineering practices.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across application, data, infra.
• Balance speed with software quality and long-term maintainability.
• Work with product leadership to translate business problems into technical solutions.
• Help a small team achieve greater development leverage via AI.
