Job summary

Cordoba, Argentina-based Proofpoint is seeking a Senior DevOps and Data Engineer to join the Data Platform team. This hybrid role centers on reliability, automation, and delivery of data pipelines and analytics capabilities using AWS-first infrastructure.

You will design and run CI/CD pipelines, build cloud infrastructure with Terraform or CDK, and maintain observability for data workloads, with a strong emphasis on secure, scalable data engineering.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in DevOps/platform engineering or SRE with at least 2 years in data engineering.
• Deep expertise with AWS services and data tools (Glue, Athena, S3).
• Experience with IaC tools (Terraform or CDK) and CI/CD.
• Strong communication and collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for AWS Glue ETL jobs and Athena views.
• Build and manage AWS-based infrastructure using IaC (Terraform / CDK).
• Own observability: metrics, logs, alerts to ensure SLA compliance.
• Develop DataOps tooling and reusable pipeline templates.
• Manage container and compute infra (Docker, ECS/EKS, Lambda).
• Operate MWAA/Airflow workflows, upgrades and reliability hardening.
• Develop Glue ETL jobs (PySpark) for large-scale data ingestion.
• Enforce security, least-privilege, and secrets management.
• Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and security teams.
• Lead incident response and post-mortem improvements.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in architecture reviews.
