Job summary

Mototech, Inc. is seeking a Technical SEO Lead to own technical SEO across higher education partner accounts for a remote US-based agency. You will conduct audits, draft developer-ready specs, and guide WordPress fixes while building Claude-based tools to scale the SEO service.

Qualifications

5+ years in SEO, with at least 3 focused on technical SEO, ideally at an agency or across multiple sites at once
Track record of uncovering high-impact issues and getting fixes implemented
Deep hands-on experience with Google Search Console, GA4, Screaming Frog, and Ahrefs or Semrush
Strong working knowledge of WordPress: themes, plugins, redirects, and schema
Advanced hands-on experience with Claude, including building agents and AI-assisted workflows
Clear written communication to spec fixes and present recommendations
Comfort owning outcomes across many accounts at once

Responsibilities

Lead technical SEO across client accounts
Run technical audits covering crawlability, indexation, site architecture, internal linking, Core Web Vitals, structured data, redirects, and broken links
Prioritize issues by impact and effort, and defend those calls
Write dev-ready specs for web developers and client teams, then follow through until fixes are released and verified
Handle light WordPress implementation: titles, meta descriptions, plugin-level redirects, and schema via Yoast or Rank Math
Monitor Google Search Console and GA4 for drops, errors, indexing problems
Own technical readiness for AI search (AEO/GEO): crawler access, structured data, entity optimization
Build systems that scale the SEO service
Design and build Claude-based tools, agents, and workflows for audits, prioritization, reporting, QA
Build content production systems that convert briefs into drafts
Translate standards into reusable systems
Connect Search Console, GA4, crawl exports, and Ahrefs/Semrush into workflows
Document systems and train the team, measuring time saved and results
Support the team and client success
Join client calls for deep technical topics with SEO Lead
Evaluate emerging search technologies and tools
