Job summary

Mototech, Inc. is seeking a Technical SEO Lead to guide technical SEO across a portfolio of higher-education-focused accounts.

You’ll run deep audits, write developer-ready specs, and own AI-ready search readiness, including Claude-based tools and workflows to streamline audits, QA, and content production. The role combines hands-on technical SEO work with building scalable systems and AI-powered workflows, reporting to the SEO Lead and supporting the Executive Director of SEO.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in SEO, with at least 3 focused on technical SEO
• Strong hands-on experience with GSC, GA4, Screaming Frog, and Ahrefs/Semrush
• Deep WordPress knowledge to spec fixes accurately
• Claude AI experience building agents and AI-assisted workflows
• Clear written communication for developer specs and client recommendations
• Ability to manage outcomes across many accounts simultaneously

Responsibilities

• Lead technical SEO across client accounts
• Run technical audits covering crawlability, indexation, site architecture, internal linking, Core Web Vitals, structured data, redirects, and broken links
• Prioritize issues by impact and effort, defend those calls
• Write dev-ready specs for web developers and client teams, then verify fixes
• Handle light WordPress implementation: titles, meta descriptions, plugin redirects, and schema via Yoast/Rank Math
• Monitor Google Search Console and GA4 to catch drops and indexing problems
• Own technical readiness for AI search (AEO/GEO) including structured data and content for LLMs
• Build scalable systems for the SEO service
• Design Claude-based tools, agents and workflows for audits, reporting and QA
• Create content production systems from briefs and optimization targets
• Translate team standards into reusable systems for the team
• Integrate Search Console, GA4, crawl exports, and Ahrefs/Semrush into actionable workflows
• Document systems, train the team, measure time saved and results
• Support the team and client success, joining calls when needed
• Evaluate emerging search technologies and recommend new tools and processes
