Mototech, Inc. is seeking a Technical SEO Lead to oversee technical SEO across a portfolio of higher education partner accounts.

You will lead audits, write dev-ready specs, and build Claude-based tools to automate audits, QA, and content production, enabling the team to focus on editing and strategic improvements. The role emphasizes hands-on optimization, WordPress familiarity, and AI-enabled search readiness, with remote collaboration across a US-based client base.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in SEO with at least 3 focused on technical SEO, ideally across multiple sites or at an agency
• Proven track record of uncovering high-impact issues and driving fixes
• Hands-on with Google Search Console, GA4, Screaming Frog, and Ahrefs or Semrush
• Strong knowledge of WordPress, themes, plugins, redirects, and schema implementation
• Clear written communication; able to write specs for developers and client-friendly recommendations

Responsibilities

• Lead technical SEO across client accounts
• Run technical audits covering crawlability, indexation, site architecture, internal linking, Core Web Vitals, structured data, redirects, and broken links
• Prioritize issues by impact and defend those calls
• Write developer-ready specs and follow through until fixes are released
• Light WordPress implementation: titles, meta descriptions, plugin-level redirects, and schema with Yoast/Rank Math
• Monitor Google Search Console and GA4 to catch drops and indexing problems
• Own technical readiness for AI search (AEO/GEO) with crawler access and structured data
• Build scalable SEO systems and Claude-based tools for audits, QA, and reporting
• Create content production systems that translate briefs into near-publish-ready drafts
• Document systems, train the team, and measure time saved
• Support the team and client success; be go-to resource on technical questions
• Join client calls for deep technical topics with SEO Lead
• Evaluate emerging search technologies and recommend new tools and workflows
