Job summary

The Spartan Investment Group is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to support day-to-day HR operations across the organization and subsidiaries. You will manage payroll, benefits administration, onboarding, offboarding, compliance, performance processes, training, and employee records, while strengthening HR infrastructure as we scale.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of progressive HR experience, strong knowledge of US employment laws, proficiency with HRIS and Excel, and the ability to handle

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field; 5+ years of progressive HR experience.
• Working knowledge of US federal and state employment laws and HR compliance requirements.
• Experience with payroll, benefits administration, onboarding, offboarding, performance management, and other core HR operations.
• Proficiency with HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office, including Excel, with the ability to quickly learn new HR technologies and systems.

Responsibilities

• Partner with managers to address employee relations matters by providing guidance on company policies and procedures, advising on disciplinary actions, developing performance improvement plans, and resolving workplace concerns.
• Conduct employment-related investigations and collaborate with legal counsel as needed, to ensure appropriate resolution and compliance.
• Support employees requiring employer sponsored visas by coordinating visa and immigration matters with external counsel.
• Manage and support key employee lifecycle processes, including performance management and organizational changes.
• Review and maintain employee handbooks, policies, and procedures, ensuring they remain current, compliant, and aligned with organizational objectives.
• Monitor and proactively address changes in federal, state, and local compliance changes, including minimum wage requirements and paid sick leave. Develop and deliver trainings for employees and managers on various topics such as effective leadership, communication, policies, and required compliance trainings.
• Evaluate HR processes to identify opportunities for improvement, executing new, efficient, scalable processes where applicable.
• Foster a positive and inclusive work environment by building trust, maintaining confidentiality, and promoting strong employee relations across the organization.
• Perform additional HR duties and special projects as needed to support evolving business needs and departmental priorities.
