Job summary

Proofpoint is seeking a Software Engineer III to join our Unified Detection team in Córdoba, Argentina. You will contribute to large-scale threat detection services, writing clean, tested code and growing your expertise in a fast-paced engineering culture.

You will work on distributed systems in cloud environments, using Python or Golang, containers, and observability tooling, with a focus on secure coding and thorough testing while collaborating with peers to deliver high‑quality, scalable

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years of software development, with proficiency in Python or Golang.
• Experience with distributed systems, cloud environments, and containerized workloads.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to moderately complex features in the detection system.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code with thorough testing.
• Take ownership of smaller features or components and ensure quality.
• Work with minimal supervision on routine tasks and seek guidance when needed.
• Anticipate blockers, communicate risks, and collaborate to address them on timelines.
• Collaborate with teammates and participate in code reviews and discussions.
• Engage in code reviews and retrospectives, applying feedback with a growth mindset.
