Job summary

Political Asylum Lawyers, a Houston-based immigration law firm, seeks an Accounting & Finance Manager (Hands-on) to lead financial operations from Argentina. The role manages accounting, billing, A/R, payroll, trust accounting compliance, and financial controls while partnering with leadership on budgeting and strategic planning.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance, 5+ years of experience, and fluency with accounting systems and AI/automation tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, preferably in a law or professional services setting.
• Strong understanding of accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, A/R, A/P, payroll, and month-end close.
• Experience with trust/IOLTA accounting and reconciliations is preferred.
• Ability to prepare accurate financial reports and explain them clearly to non-financial leaders.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day financial operations, billing, A/R, A/P, payroll, and trust accounting.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and variance analysis with clear conclusions.
• Develop budgets/forecasts and monitor cash flow with leadership.
• Improve billing processes, collections, and accounts receivable management.
• Maintain internal controls and support audits and tax preparation.
• Collaborate with leadership to support strategic planning and pricing decisions.
