Political Asylum Lawyers seeks an Accounting & Finance Manager (Hands-on) to lead financial operations for a Houston-based immigration law firm, ensuring accurate records, compliance, and timely reporting. You’ll work with leadership to manage billing, payroll, trust accounting, and cash flow while improving processes.

The role combines accounting, reporting, forecasting, and internal controls, with opportunities to influence budgeting and financial strategy within a mission-driven practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• 5+ years in accounting/finance roles, preferably in professional services.
• Experience with trust/IOLTA accounting and financial controls.
• Proficiency with billing systems and financial reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day financial operations with staff and providers.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and key reports.
• Manage billing, A/R, A/P, payroll, and tax coordination.
• Maintain trust accounting compliance and internal controls.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow planning.
• Provide financial analysis to guide strategic decisions.
