Job summary

Political Asylum Lawyers is seeking a hands-on Accounting & Finance Manager to lead financial operations, reporting, budgeting, and controls for the firm. You will manage billing, A/R, A/P, payroll, trust accounting, and provide financial analysis to support leadership decisions.

The role requires solid accounting experience, accuracy, and the ability to explain complex numbers clearly. Open to candidates based in Argentina working remotely and collaboratively with the U.S. team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services.
• Strong understanding of general accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, A/R, A/P, payroll.
• Experience managing or reviewing trust/IOLTA accounting and reconciliations.
• Experience with billing systems, client payment plans, collections, and accounts receivable management.
• Proficiency with Excel and financial reporting tools; ability to explain complex numbers clearly.
• Ability to identify risks, implement controls, and communicate with non-financial leaders.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day financial operations and document procedures.
• Manage billing, A/R, A/P, payroll, trust accounting, and tax coordination.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and key reports on time.
• Maintain forward-looking cash flow forecasts and annual budgets.
• Monitor cash balances, bank activity, and vendor payments.
• Ensure internal controls, compliance, and accurate general ledger maintenance.
• Analyze profitability, pricing, and working capital; support strategic decisions.
• Lead finance staff and external vendors; progressively delegate recurring tasks.
