Job summary

Political Asylum Lawyers, a Houston-based immigration law firm, seeks an Accounting & Finance Manager to lead day-to-day financial operations, billing, and trust accounting. You will oversee budgeting, cash flow, and financial reporting, supporting leadership decisions and strategic planning from a fully remote position open to candidates based in Argentina.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting or finance experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services.
• Strong understanding of general accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, A/R, A/P, payroll, and month-end close.
• Experience with trust/IOLTA accounting and reconciliations.
• Experience with billing systems, client payment plans, collections, and accounts receivable management.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day financial operations, working with staff and providers; document procedures for accuracy and timeliness.
• Ensure accurate execution of accounting, billing, A/R, A/P, payroll, trust accounting, and tax coordination.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and key financial reports on time.
• Maintain strong internal controls and protect the integrity of firm financials.
• Oversee billing, collections, and client invoicing; manage trust accounting and reconciliations.
