AgileEngine is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to own the data pipeline and analytical architecture for a large-volume marketing analytics platform. You will define partitioning, file formats, and near-real-time processing for OLAP workloads on an S3-backed data lake, and lead a team of senior engineers while ensuring code quality.

You will design and govern ETL pipelines, orchestrate DAGs with Airflow, and drive the AWS data stack with Athena and EKS.

Formación

• Seven+ years of engineering experience with ETL pipelines and large data systems.
• OLAP data architecture experience with Athena, Trino/Presto, BigQuery, Snowflake, Spark SQL, ClickHouse.
• Experience designing and implementing data lakes on object storage (S3) with Parquet/ORC.
• Deep familiarity with DAG-style orchestration (Airflow) or equivalents.
• Hands-on AWS data stack (S3, Athena, EKS) and collaboration with DevOps.
• Python backend (FastAPI/Flask); REST and GraphQL.
• Docker and PostgreSQL in production.
• Mac/Linux terminal proficiency.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code) and responsible AI usage.
• Strong opinions and ability to defend technical choices in scalable designs.
• Comfort with ambiguity and defining problems before solving them.
• Upper-Intermediate English.

Responsabilidades

• Design and own ETL pipelines extracting/transforming data at scale.
• Make architectural calls on partitioning, file formats, and near-real-time processing for OLAP workloads.
• Own design of scheduled batch workflows (DAGs) on Airflow; define structure, dependencies, and triggering strategy.
• Drive AWS data stack usage and partner with DevOps to clarify requirements.
• Review PRs and enforce code quality standards.
• Guide senior developers and align with engineering practices.
