Job summary

HoopStars is a Toronto-based youth basketball business with recurring customers and technology-enabled operations. We are looking for a hands-on General Manager whose strongest skills are marketing, ecommerce and profitable growth, and who can take responsibility for the whole business.

You will divide your time roughly equally between running HoopStars and building the parent company Community Sports Partners' marketing team across its brands.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering paid acquisition results and strong conversion/retention improvements.
• Commercial accountability beyond marketing budgets including pricing, margins and profitability.
• Experience hiring and managing marketers, creatives, agencies or contractors.
• Ability to translate ecommerce methods into a service business with clear delivery commitments.
• Comfort doing hands-on work while developing people/processes.
• Strong professional English and effective remote leadership.

Responsibilities

• Run HoopStars: own business plan, budget, revenue, profitability and cash forecasts; lead sales and operations.
• Drive digital growth: optimize paid search/social, creative, landing pages, enrollment funnels and pricing.
• Build the parent marketing team: structure, recruit specialists, manage priorities and performance across brands.
• Establish commercial discipline: link campaign performance to paying customers and profitability; allocate investment with reporting.
• Stay close to execution: audit advertising accounts and help launch improvements with a scalable team.
