Job summary

AgileEngine is seeking a Backend Developer to design, build, and maintain scalable systems using Java and/or Kotlin with Spring Boot, GraphQL, MongoDB, Aurora MySQL on AWS. You’ll contribute to operational tooling, observability, and system architecture for a product-led engineering team.

Responsibilities include designing and implementing high-performance services, participating in reviews, and collaborating with cross-functional partners.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of backend-focused software development experience.
• Proficiency in Java and/or Kotlin.
• Proficiency in MongoDB (Atlas) and Aurora MySQL on AWS.
• Experience building cloud-native distributed systems on AWS.
• Experience with Spring Boot.
• API development with GraphQL (Netflix DGS).
• Experience building and operating large-scale, high-performance systems on a major cloud platform.

Responsibilities

• Take on lower-priority engineering work including compliance, maintenance, cost-savings, observability, and tooling.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable, performant software systems.
• Contribute to system architecture and design, validated by data and experimentation.
• Participate in code and design reviews to uphold engineering standards.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, data scientists, and designers.
• Work with Product Manager and engineers on mid-level design, focused on coding, testing, and documentation.
