Job summary
Unknown Agency seeks a Technical SEO Lead to own technical SEO across a portfolio of higher education clients. You will drive audits, create developer-ready specs, and implement fixes while building Claude-based tools to streamline audits, reporting, and QA.
The role emphasizes ownership across multiple accounts and collaboration with the SEO Lead and Executive Director of SEO. You will also oversee light WordPress tasks, monitor GSC/GA4 for issues, and stay ahead of AI-driven search changes,
Qualifications
- 5+ years in SEO with 3+ years in technical SEO
- Proven ability to identify high-impact issues and drive fixes
- Hands-on with SEO tools: GSC, GA4, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs or Semrush
- Strong knowledge of WordPress themes, plugins, redirects and schema
- Experience building Claude-based agents and AI-assisted workflows
Responsibilities
- Lead technical SEO across client accounts and audits
- Write developer-ready specs and follow through until fixes are live
- Handle light WordPress tasks: titles, meta descriptions, redirects, schema
- Monitor GSC and GA4 to catch issues and indexing problems
- Build Claude-based tools, agents, and workflows for audits, reporting, QA
- Design scalable systems to deliver the SEO service
- Join client calls to explain deep technical topics
- Evaluate emerging search tech and propose new tools and processes
