Job summary
A consulting firm is hiring an HSE Officer for a project in the United Arab Emirates. This role requires ensuring compliance with HSE policies, conducting site inspections, and developing emergency response plans. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 3 to 5 years of experience in the construction sector. Certifications such as NEBOSH or OSHA are highly desirable. The position emphasizes collaboration with contractors and adherence to safety regulations.
Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of experience as an HSE Officer in construction projects.
- Understanding of local and international HSE standards and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Implement HSE policies and procedures on construction sites.
- Conduct site inspections to identify potential hazards.
- Collaborate with contractors for HSE compliance.
- Perform risk assessments and recommend mitigations.
- Prepare and submit HSE reports to management.

- Conduct HSE training sessions for project personnel and contractors.
- Promote a strong safety culture by fostering awareness and understanding of HSE policies and procedures.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain detailed records of all incidents and their resolutions.
- Prepare and submit regular HSE reports to project management.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, audits, and training sessions.
- Ensure that all project activities comply with relevant HSE legislation and standards.
- Collaborate with regulatory authorities and conduct necessary permitting activities.
- Develop and implement emergency response procedures and coordinate drills.
- Liaise with local emergency services to ensure a rapid and effective response in case of emergencies.
- Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- 3 to 5 years of proven experience as an HSE Officer in large-scale construction projects (CCGT) in the energy sector or EPC projects.
- In-depth knowledge of local and international HSE regulations and standards.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Relevant certifications in HSE (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA) are highly desirable.
