An international research institution in Abu Dhabi seeks a Postdoctoral Associate to lead a project on covalent organic frameworks (COFs) for water treatment applications. The Khalil Research Group at NYU Abu Dhabi employs a crossdisciplinary approach that integrates chemistry reaction engineering and manufacturing principles to develop advanced materials for environmental remediation. Our research focuses on controlling material structures from the nanoscale to the microscale enabling the creation of innovative technologies that leverage these complex architectures for sustainable water treatment solutions.
The Postdoctoral Associate will lead a project focused on developing covalent organic frameworks (COFs) for water treatment applications. The role involves the design synthesis and characterization of materials using advanced techniques such as powder Xray diffraction electron diffraction spectroscopy electron microscopy and porosity analysis. The postdoc will also evaluate the performance of these materials in water applications.
Additional responsibilities include preparing manuscripts reviewing articles drafting grant proposals and mentoring junior researchers. The Postdoctoral Associate will have the opportunity to work on individualized projects under the guidance of Dr. Safiya Khalil ensuring a wellrounded research experience throughout the tenure.
