Job summary

ALEC Holdings is seeking a detail-oriented Surveying Draughtsman to deliver accurate survey drawings, CAD models, and technical documentation for complex construction projects in the UAE. You will support setting-out, data processing, and conformity to project specs, QA/QC, and ALEC procedures, collaborating with surveyors, engineers, and BIM teams.

Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D, Civil 3D, and BIM workflows is essential, along with experience in Carlson Survey, Trimble Business Center, Leica

Qualifications

• Experience of producing accurate survey drawings and CAD models for construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of surveying data processing and setting-out.
• Familiarity with QA/QC procedures and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate 2D survey drawings using AutoCAD 2D and create supporting CAD models.
• Perform drawing rescaling, grid alignment, coordinate transformations, and document control.
• Coordinate with surveyors, engineers, and BIM teams to ensure correct representation of survey data in drawings and models.
• Apply BIM and survey drafting standards to deliver high-quality outputs.
• Undertake miscellaneous duties as required by management.

About Your Team

Our Surveying team is dedicated to providing accurate, reliable, and timely survey drafting support across complex construction projects. Working closely with surveyors, engineers, BIM teams, and project stakeholders, we transform survey data into precise drawings, CAD models, and technical documentation that support project planning, setting-out, construction, and as-built deliverables. Through technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality, our team ensures all survey documentation complies with project specifications, industry standards, QA/QC requirements, and ALEC procedures, enabling the successful delivery of every project.

Your Role

• Prepare accurate 2D survey drawings using AutoCAD, including topographic surveys, setting-out drawings, as-built drawings, utility layouts, and construction support drawings.
• Perform drawing rescaling, grid alignment, coordinate transformations, and drawing preparation according to project requirements.
• Coordinate with project engineers, BIM teams, and survey personnel to ensure survey information is correctly represented in drawings and models
• Apply technical expertise and discipline-specific knowledge to deliver high-quality outcomes within your area of specialisation
• Apply the Company’s frameworks to guide role expectations, levels of responsibility, skills, development, and progression.
• Undertake any other reasonable duties and/or responsibilities as required by management, to meet the needs of the business.

Skills and Competencies

• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Proficiency in AutoCAD including 2D drafting, layers, blocks, references, and drawing management.
• Working knowledge of Civil 3D for surface creation, TIN modelling, contours generation, alignments, profiles, and volume calculations.
• Ability to process and manage survey data including coordinate systems, levels, points, and field survey information.
• Knowledge of Building Information Modelling (BIM) principles and workflows.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit for viewing, coordinating, and integrating survey information within BIM models.
• knowledge of survey drafting standards, construction drawings, and quality control procedures.
• Experience with survey processing software such as Carlson Survey, Trimble Business Center, Leica Infinity, and Revizto.
• Basic knowledge of GIS software such as QGIS or ArcGIS.
• Experience working with large-scale construction, infrastructure, or building projects.
• Knowledge of BIM workflows and coordination with engineering/design teams.
