Job summary

ALEC Technologies is seeking a Contract Quantity Surveyor to oversee commercial, contractual, and cost management for electrical projects on-site in the UAE. You will manage subcontractor and supplier contracts, prepare claims, and support EOT submissions while ensuring adherence to FIDIC terms and client requirements.

The role requires strong contract administration, claims handling, and reporting skills, with site collaboration across multiple teams. UAE-based on-site work is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in MEP Quantity Surveying, with at least 2+ years in contract administration.
  • Strong knowledge of FIDIC contracts and claims preparation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and administer subcontractor and supplier contracts.
  • Prepare, submit, and defend contractual claims, variations, and EOT submissions.
  • Assess and certify subcontractor interim and final payment applications.
  • Compile and submit monthly cost/value reconciliations and commercial reports.
  • Ensure compliance with project contracts, FIDIC conditions, and client requirements.
  • Negotiate contractual/commercial issues with clients and subcontractors.
  • Identify contractual risks and advise mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain records of correspondence and contract changes.
  • Collaborate with Commercial Manager, MEP teams, and stakeholders to resolve disputes.

Your Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Contract Quantity Surveyor to oversee commercial, contractual, and cost management aspects of our Electrical projects. The role requires strong expertise in contract administration, claims management, subcontractor coordination, and commercial reporting to ensure projects are delivered within budget and aligned with contractual obligations.

  • Manage and administer subcontractor and supplier contracts.
  • Prepare, submit, and defend contractual claims, variations, and extension-of-time (EOT) submissions.
  • Assess and certify subcontractor interim and final payment applications.
  • Compile and submit accurate monthly cost/value reconciliations and commercial reports.
  • Ensure compliance with project contracts, FIDIC conditions, and client requirements.
  • Support negotiation of contractual and commercial issues with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
  • Identify contractual risks and advise on mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records of correspondence, agreements, and contract changes.
  • Liaise closely with the Commercial Manager, MEP teams, and project stakeholders to resolve disputes and protect company interests.
  • Support project close-out, including final account agreements.

This is a full-time role requiring site visits and close collaboration with multiple teams.

What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in MEP Quantity Surveying, with at least 2+ years focused on contract administration.
  • Strong knowledge of BMS systems, construction contracts (especially FIDIC), and claims preparation.
  • Proven experience managing subcontractor accounts and preparing commercial reports.
  • Proficiency in contract management tools and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with BIM 360, Navisworks, and Power BI dashboards (preferred).
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Detail-oriented, commercially astute, and proactive in problem-solving.
