Role Context The Structural Inspector will provide hands‑on construction oversight for structural and civil works on infrastructure projects in Dubai. The position requires regular field inspection to ensure contractor activities, installed materials, demolition works, and new structural construction meet contractual and technical requirements. Beyond physical inspection, the role contributes to reliable project controls through daily reporting, quantity calculations, as‑built records, material documentation, and verification of completed works. The inspector will also identify potential conflicts and nonconforming activities early enough for corrective measures to be implemented without unnecessary disruption to construction.
Ideal Profile Candidates should hold a diploma or bachelor 's degree in Civil Engineering, a related engineering discipline, or an equivalent recognized qualification. A minimum of five years of regional experience working in the capacity of Structural Inspector is required. Candidates should understand public works contracts and the construction processes associated with major civil and structural infrastructure. The ability to accurately read and interpret engineering plans, construction drawings, specifications, and contractual requirements is essential. Practical mathematical capability is required for engineering calculations, quantity verification, graphs, charts, progress measurements, and payment-related assessments. Candidates should have effective daily diary and technical reporting skills together with an understanding of construction scheduling. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, project management software, and standard online research tools is required. The successful candidate should be capable of recognizing unsafe construction conditions and taking appropriate action to reduce risk. Strong time management, sound judgment, teamwork, and clear written and verbal English communication are important for this field-based position. Relevant authority certification or approval and HSE training will be advantageous. Construction safety training, including 10-hour OSHA training, is preferred.
