The inspector connects physical site conditions with drawings, specifications, approved materials, measurement records, and quality documentation. Reliable field verification is essential for identifying defects before acceptance, confirming quantities for commercial purposes, maintaining accurate project records, and ensuring completed infrastructure meets its intended performance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Examine structural construction activities and determine whether completed work complies with contract specifications.
• Inspect demolition and removal of existing structural components.
• Monitor construction associated with reservoirs, lifting stations, substations, retaining walls, tunnels, and bridges.
• Cover structural activities associated with landscape works, lagoons, swimming pools, and other project facilities.
• Compare workmanship and completed elements with approved drawings and specifications.
• Check construction materials before incorporation into permanent works and confirm the required approvals are in place.
• Review Certificates of Compliance, Safety Data Sheets, inspection tags, and supporting product documentation.
• Maintain structured inspection files and construction records for assigned work areas.
• Record daily site activities, inspection results, deficiencies, and relevant construction events.
• Prepare contract-required daily reports and supporting documentation.
• Maintain calculations for measured and installed quantities.
• Confirm quantities used to support contractor progress payment applications.
• Verify additional quantities arising from approved changes or extra works.
• Assist with assessment of progress estimates and extra work bills where required.
• Maintain accurate as-built information as construction progresses.
• Support review of final record drawings against verified site conditions.
• Carry out labor compliance interviews when required by project procedures.
