Parsons Corporation is hiring an experienced Structural Inspector to verify workmanship, monitor material compliance, document nonconformance, support quantity measurement, and ensure site activities meet approved drawings, specifications, safety requirements, and contract standards.

Role Context

The Structural Inspector will provide continuous site surveillance across demolition, structural construction, and associated infrastructure activities. The position requires disciplined review of field conditions, approved materials, contractor workmanship, project records, quantities, and safety practices. By identifying deficiencies early and maintaining accurate inspection documentation, the role will help protect structural quality, support payment verification, reduce rework, and contribute to safe and compliant project delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect structural works to confirm compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and contractual requirements.
  • Monitor demolition activities involving structural elements and ensure work proceeds in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Inspect construction associated with roads, substations, tunnels, bridges, and other structural infrastructure.
  • Maintain project files, quantity calculations, inspection records, and accurate daily site diaries.
  • Prepare daily reports and additional documentation required under the contract.
  • Verify that only approved materials are incorporated into permanent works.
  • Maintain as-built plans and support labor compliance documentation where required.
  • Identify field conflicts, construction issues, and emerging problems and recommend practical corrective actions.
  • Collect, review, and file Certificates of Compliance, Safety Data Sheets, inspection tags, and supporting material documentation.
  • Measure installed quantities to support verification of payment applications and change order works.
  • Coordinate surveying and material testing activities undertaken by specialist subconsultants.
  • Assist in developing construction safety practices and associated site reports.
  • Contribute to quality control procedures, inspection reporting, and compliance records.
  • Document nonconforming work and support evaluation of appropriate corrective measures.l>
  • Respond to emergency site call-backs when required.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior inspectors where assigned.
  • Maintain awareness of public safety while conducting inspection activities.
  • Coordinate with engineers, contractors, surveyors, testing personnel, and other project stakeholders.
  • Ensure inspection documentation remains complete, traceable, and suitable for project close-out requirements.
Ideal Profile
  • Candidates should hold a diploma or bachelor 's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline and have at least 5 years of regional experience working as a Structural Inspector.
  • Practical knowledge of public works contracts and construction supervision processes.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret structural plans, engineering drawings, and specifications.
  • Understanding of structural construction methods and inspection requirements.
  • Ability to perform engineering calculations and interpret technical graphs and charts.
  • Experience maintaining inspection diaries and producing accurate field reports.l>
  • Understanding of construction scheduling and progress monitoring.
  • Ability to review progress payment estimates and additional work bills.
  • Familiarity with material documentation, compliance certificates, and inspection records.
  • Ability to recognize hazardous site conditions and take appropriate action.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and project management software.
  • Strong time management and field organization skills.
  • Effective written and verbal English communication.
  • Ability to follow technical instructions while exercising sound judgment in active construction environments.
  • Authority certification or approvals related to structural inspection are advantageous.
  • HSE training and construction safety qualifications are preferred.
  • OSHA 10-hour construction safety training is desirable.
