Position Objective
The position is responsible for increasing business revenues while developing, implementing, and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures across stores in line with retail standards. The role oversees recruitment, training, and operational decision-making to improve overall store performance. It represents the brand through strong retail execution, exceptional customer service, and effective leadership while providing ongoing direction and support to employees across the store network.
Sales and Profitability
- Drive performance across key retail measures including units per transaction, average transaction value, monthly sales, sales per square foot, turnover, shrinkage control, and conversion rates.
- Establish store sales targets with a focus on maximizing revenue and profitability.
- Guide Area Managers and Store Managers in improving productivity through effective utilization of available resources.
- Manage operational expenditure and identify opportunities to reduce operating costs, including through appropriate automation.
- Monitor store performance against agreed commercial objectives and take action where improvement is required.
- Support consistent customer service and retail execution across all stores.
Retail Operations and Compliance
- Ensure Company Standard Operating Procedures, policies, and procedures are implemented and followed across stores.
- Enforce loss prevention and audit guidelines and monitor employee compliance.
- Oversee implementation of visual merchandising guidelines and ensure stores maintain required standards.
- Interpret operational and visual requirements according to individual store and customer needs.
- Maintain consistent operating practices across the retail network while supporting business growth.
People Leadership and Development
- Recruit and train employees in sales techniques, customer service, teamwork, and other standards required by the company and brand.
- Evaluate employee performance and promote open communication through coaching, feedback, and motivation.
- Identify store training and development requirements in coordination with the Brand General Manager and training department.
- Develop succession plans together with the Brand General Manager.
- Establish KPIs and KRAs for direct reports and conduct performance appraisals and feedback sessions.
- Participate in the selection and recruitment of operational employees when required.
- Support technical and behavioral capability through appropriate learning and development initiatives.
Communication and Performance Management
- Conduct regional sales and operations meetings on a regular basis.
- Provide Area Managers and Store Managers with frequent feedback regarding their performance against company expectations.
- Ensure brand participation in the Club Apparel loyalty program.
- Participate in weekly meetings with the General Manager and senior management to review business plans, achievements, and improvement areas.
- Maintain effective communication among operational, brand, and management teams.
Stock Management
- Monitor store inventory in consultation with the Brand General Manager and Brand Managers.
- Encourage proactive coordination between the General Manager, Area Managers, Brand Managers, Store Managers, Buyers, and Planners to maximize sales opportunities.
- Review slow-moving and outdated stock with Brand Managers and support appropriate actions.
- Ensure Store Managers effectively implement stock security measures.
Store Design and Project Management
- Participate in the design and layout process for new store projects.
- Prepare a New Store Schedule before the design process begins.
- Provide guidance to the concept architect throughout design and implementation.
- Conduct regular project update meetings with the Projects team.
- Support territory teams during store setup and merchandising phases.
- Help ensure new stores are operationally prepared for opening.
Brand Visibility and Store Development
- Provide input that supports brand visibility, marketing activities, and brand awareness.
- Contribute operational insights to store planning and development initiatives.
- Handle relevant legal responsibilities associated with store management, new store openings, and operational planning.
