The Service Advisor converts customer concerns into clear workshop instructions and follows each job from initial inspection through final delivery. Success in this position depends on accurate technical communication, disciplined control of work in progress and the ability to identify legitimate maintenance, repair and parts opportunities. The role directly influences workshop efficiency, service revenue and the Customer Satisfaction Index.

Key Responsibilities

• Consult customers and technicians to understand equipment faults, operating concerns and service requirements.
• Translate customer requests into accurate workshop instructions and job orders.
• Explain available repair and maintenance options, including expected completion times and costs.
• Prepare quotations, service reports and supporting documents for customer review.
• Follow up promptly to secure approvals and prevent delays in workshop activity.
• Coordinate with workshop and spare‑parts teams to keep jobs within approved time and cost limits.
• Monitor open work orders and ensure completed jobs are invoiced and closed without unnecessary delay.
• Follow up on outstanding payments to reduce aged work in progress.
• Create quotations, job orders, delivery notes, gate passes and invoices in the relevant systems.
• Review service reports and equipment history to recommend preventive maintenance, additional repairs and replacement parts.
• Convert appropriate recommendations into approved work while maintaining transparent customer communication.
• Track approved, completed and invoiced jobs and prepare lost‑sales reports.
• Verify billing accuracy and explain completed work, parts charges and invoice details to customers.
• Arrange equipment delivery after confirming job completion, documentation and payment status.
• Conduct post‑service calls, record customer feedback and address unresolved concerns.
• Maintain organized service records, filing and archives in accordance with company and ISO requirements.
• Work proactively with internal teams to resolve operational bottlenecks and protect agreed delivery commitments.

Ideal Profile

The position requires a diploma or bachelor 's degree in automobile, marine, electrical or mechanical engineering. Candidates should bring at least eight years of relevant experience with an authorized OEM dealership, including a minimum of five years working as a Service Advisor. A strong background in generators or marine engines is preferred. The successful candidate will understand dealership operations, workshop workflows, diesel engines, driveline components, electrical systems and spare‑parts processes. Professional English communication is required, while Arabic language ability will be an advantage.
