Job summary

Azizi Developments in the United Arab Emirates seeks a Senior Structural Engineer specializing in precast and prestressed concrete to lead design analysis, detailing, and review of beams, columns, slabs, and staircases within a precast manufacturing environment.

You will perform complete analyses, generate shop drawings and reinforcement schedules, review MEP interfaces, and ensure compliance with PCI/ACI/Eurocode standards while supporting demolding, transport, and site erection activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (SE/CEng) license preferred.
• 7–12+ years of structural engineering experience, with at least 5 years specifically in precast/prestressed concrete design.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete structural analysis and design calculations for precast, prestressed concrete elements in accordance with ACI, PCI or Eurocode standards.
• Oversee the generation of detailed fabrication shop drawings, reinforcement schedules and mold setups.
• Review and approve production-ready shop drawings created by structural detailers and BIM modelers.
• Assist the erection team by reviewing crane capacities, rigging configurations, temporary propping and erection sequences.
• Prepare and sign off on structural submittals, design reports and calculations for third-party consultant and authority approvals.

Job description

The strong Precast Senior Structural Engineer strong leads the structural design analysis and detail engineering for precast and prestressed concrete elements beams columns hollow-core slabs insulated wall panels and staircases Working within a precast manufacturing environment this role ensures all components are structurally sound for final building loads while also engineering them to withstand the transient stresses of factory demolding yard handling transportation and site erection.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform complete structural analysis and design calculations for precast prestressed concrete elements in accordance with ACI PCI or Eurocode standards Structural design of precast connections corbels welded plates grouted sleeves post-tensioned tendons shear keys and mechanical splices Calculate dynamic and temporary loading conditions for lifting stripping tipping transport and site erection stages
• Oversee the generation of detailed fabrication shop drawings reinforcement schedules BBS strand patterns embedded items layout and mold setups Review and approve production-ready shop drawings created by structural detailers and BIM modelers Resolve structural clashes between precast elements MEP cast-in sleeves and cast-in-place interfaces
• Propose value-engineering solutions to optimize concrete mix strength strand utilization panel thickness and mold standardization Assess and issue engineering repair methodologies for non-conforming or damaged precast elements during demolding handling or site installation Assist the erection team by reviewing crane capacities rigging configurations temporary propping and erection sequences
• Prepare and sign off on structural submittals design reports and calculations for third-party consultant and authority approvals Conduct site visits and factory inspections to verify reinforcement placement tendon tensioning and embed alignment prior to casting

Required Qualifications & Skills

Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering. Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (SE/CEng) license preferred.

Experience

7–12+ years of structural engineering experience, with at least 5 years specifically in precast/prestressed concrete design and manufacturing.

Software Skills

ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, Tekla Structures (Precast/Prestressed), AutoCAD, RISA-3D, IDEA Statica (connection design), and prestressed design software (e.g., Concise Beam).

Technical KnowledgeI

in-depth understanding of PCI Design Handbook, ACI 318, post-tensioning/pre-tensioning principles, strand relaxation, creep and shrinkage calculations, and connection design.
