Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Drafting Technology.
• 6–10+ years of dedicated structural rebar detailing experience, with at least 4 years focused on precast/prestressed concrete elements.
• Advanced proficiency in Tekla Structures or AutoCAD Structural Detailing / Revit.
• Deep knowledge of BS 8666, ACI 315, Eurocode 2, PCI guidelines.
• Solid understanding of concrete cover rules, lap lengths, anchorage zones, and CNC data formats (BVBS/DXF).

The Senior Reinforcement Detailer Precast Concrete specializes in generating precise buildable 3D models and 2D shop drawings for rebar cages prestressed strands and embedded mesh configurations within precast concrete elements Working within a factory technical office this role translates structural engineer calculations into error-free Bar Bending Schedules BBS automated CNC cutting bending machine files BVBS and production assembly tickets The Senior Detailer ensures rebar cage geometry fits perfectly inside molds alongside lifting anchors MEP cast-in items and structural connection hardware without congestion or cover violations

Key Responsibilities

• Rebar Modeling Shop Drawing Generation
• Model 3D reinforcement cages prestressing strand layouts mesh panels shear links and mechanical splices for complex precast elements columns beams wall panels hollow-core slabs double tees and stairs
• Produce production-ready piece tickets section drawings placement plans and Bar Bending Schedules BBS in compliance with ACI 315 BS 8666 or Eurocode standards
• Extract machine-readable BVBS data files to drive automated steel cutting and bending machinery in the rebar yard
• Congestion Spatial Clash Resolution
• Analyze rebar cage layouts against embedded plates lifting anchors post-tensioning ducts and MEP blockouts to eliminate spatial clashes prior to cage assembly
• Adjust bar arrangements and lap splice locations to satisfy concrete cover requirements and aggregate flow allowances around congested areas
• Coordinate with structural engineers to resolve constructability challenges and draft RFI solutions for complex connection node details
• Factory Floor Steel Yard Support
• Support rebar workshop supervisors and steel benders to clarify bending schedules shape codes and cage assembly sequences
• Conduct periodic shop floor inspections to verify assembled rebar cages against approved production drawings before mold placement and concrete pouring
• Propose value-engineering modifications to optimize steel yield standard bar stock lengths and prefabricated mesh usage to minimize scrap waste
• Quality Assurance Mentoring
• Perform quality checks on reinforcement drawings shape codes and BBS packages generated by junior detailers
• Maintain and update the factory library of dynamic rebar components custom shape codes and standard connection templates

Required Qualifications

• Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Drafting Technology.
• Experience: 6–10+ years of dedicated structural rebar detailing experience, with at least 4 years focused on precast/prestressed concrete elements.
• Software Proficiency Advanced expertise in Tekla Structures (Precast/Rebar detailing modules) or AutoCAD Structural Detailing / Revit. Proficiency with automated BBS generation tools.
• Codes & Standards Deep working knowledge of international rebar shape codes and detailing standards (BS 8666, ACI 315, Eurocode 2, PCI guidelines).
• Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of concrete cover rules, lap lengths, anchorage zones, prestressing strand patterns, rebar mesh integration, and CNC machine data formats (BVBS/DXF).
