Job summary

Azizi Developments in the United Arab Emirates seeks an experienced structural engineer specializing in precast concrete. You will lead the design of precast elements, review drawings, and ensure conformity with codes and project specifications.

The role requires strong coordination with Architects, BIM teams, production, and site teams, and hands-on involvement from design through erection. Proficiency in ETABS, STAAD.Pro, SAFE, SAP2000, AutoCAD and Revit/BIM is essential, with UAE/GCC

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• 8+ years of structural engineering experience with precast concrete.
• Strong UAE/GCC precast design and engineering experience.
• Experience with precast elements, connections, reinforcement detailing, shop drawings, and erection requirements.
• Knowledge of international and local structural design codes and standards.
• Experience with structural design and analysis software such as ETABS, SAFE, STAAD.Pro, SAP2000.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit/BIM is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design and engineering of precast concrete elements and structures.
• Prepare and review structural calculations, design reports, and technical documentation.
• Design precast elements including columns, beams, walls, slabs, stairs, façade panels, and other precast components.
• Develop reinforcement details, connection designs, lifting points, and temporary stability requirements.
• Prepare, review, and approve precast shop drawings and production drawings.
• Ensure designs comply with drawings, specifications, standards, and codes.
• Coordinate with Architects, Consultants, Design Engineers, BIM teams, Production, QA/QC, and Site teams.
• Review design changes, RFIs, and technical submissions; resolve issues during production and installation.
• Provide technical support to the factory during mould prep, reinforcement fabrication, casting, curing, storage, transport, and erection.
• Review precast element dimensions, tolerances, embedded items, openings, lifting arrangements, and connection details.
• Conduct structural analysis and calculations for precast elements and connections where required.
• Ensure designs consider transportation, lifting, handling, erection, and temporary conditions.
• Review outputs prepared by junior engineers and draftsmen.
• Coordinate with production to ensure designs are practical for manufacturing.
• Support value engineering with sound, cost-effective design solutions.
• Attend technical meetings and provide clarifications to clients, consultants, and project teams.
• Ensure all structural documentation is properly maintained and issued on time.

• Ensure all structural documentation is properly maintained and issued within project timelines.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• 8+ years of relevant structural engineering experience, with significant experience in precast concrete.
• Strong UAE/GCC experience in precast structural design and engineering is preferred.
• Proven experience with precast elements, connections, reinforcement detailing, shop drawings, and erection requirements.
• Strong knowledge of relevant international and local structural design codes and standards.
• Experience with structural design and analysis software such as ETABS, SAFE, STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, or equivalent.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit/BIM is an advantage.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
• Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete design and precast construction methodologies.
• Experience coordinating with precast production and site erection teams is highly desirable.
