Job summary

Azizi Developments in Dubai seeks an experienced reinforcement detailing specialist to prepare accurate reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules for precast elements, coordinating with structural engineers, BIM modelers, and production teams.

The role requires 5–8 years in reinforcement detailing, a civil/structural engineering degree, strong AutoCAD skills, and familiarity with precast standards; UAE/GCC experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 5–8 years of reinforcement detailing experience, preferably in a precast factory.
• Ability to read and interpret structural drawings and specs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules (BBS) for precast elements.
• Detail reinforcement for precast columns, beams, walls, slabs, stairs, façade panels, and other components.
• Review drawings, calculations, and shop drawings to ensure correct reinforcement detailing.
• Prepare reinforcement layouts, cutting lists, bending details, couplers, laps, anchorage, and other requirements.
• Coordinate with Structural Engineers, BIM Modelers, QA/QC, and production teams to ensure fabrication feasibility.
• Maintain revision control and document reinforcement drawings and BBS.
• Assist in resolving site and factory queries related to reinforcement detailing.

Job description

The ideal candidate should have strong practical knowledge of precast reinforcement detailing, structural drawings, rebar fabrication, bar bending schedules, and production requirements, with the ability to coordinate closely with Structural Engineers, BIM, Production, and QA/QC teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules (BBS) for precast concrete elements.
• Detail reinforcement for precast columns, beams, walls, slabs, stairs, façade panels, boundary walls, and other precast components.
• Review structural drawings, design calculations, specifications, and approved shop drawings to ensure correct reinforcement detailing.
• Prepare reinforcement layouts, cutting lists, bending details, couplers, laps, anchorage, and other reinforcement requirements.
• Ensure reinforcement details comply with approved structural designs, project specifications, applicable codes, and company standards.
• Coordinate with Structural Engineers and BIM Modelers to resolve reinforcement-related technical issues.
• Coordinate with Production and Steel Fixing teams to ensure reinforcement details are practical, clear, and suitable for fabrication and casting.
• Review reinforcement drawings for clashes with embedded items, lifting anchors, openings, sleeves, connections, and other components.
• Prepare accurate bar marks, bar diameters, spacing, quantities, lengths, shapes, and bending requirements.
• Verify reinforcement quantities and optimize bar arrangements where possible without compromising structural requirements.
• Incorporate design revisions, consultant comments, RFIs, and approved changes into reinforcement drawings.
• Conduct drawing checks and ensure all reinforcement details are accurate before issuing drawings for production.
• Assist in resolving site and factory queries related to reinforcement detailing and fabrication.
• Coordinate with QA/QC to ensure reinforcement installation and fabrication comply with approved drawings and specifications.
• Maintain proper revision control and documentation of reinforcement drawings and BBS.
• Review the work of junior detailers and provide technical guidance and support.
• Ensure all drawings and deliverables are completed within the required project timelines.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience in reinforcement detailing, preferably within a precast concrete factory.
• Strong experience in detailing reinforcement for precast structural elements.
• Good knowledge of reinforced concrete construction, rebar fabrication, BBS, bending shapes, anchorage, laps, and connections.
• Ability to read and interpret structural drawings and engineering specifications.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit/BIM is an advantage.
• Familiarity with relevant reinforcement detailing standards and structural codes.
• Experience coordinating with production, steel fixing, structural engineering, and QA/QC teams.
• UAE/GCC precast or construction experience is preferred.
