Overview
Lead the strategy and development of automated payment controllership and compliance capabilities across Amazon’s emerging markets. Own the entire product vision and roadmap while coordinating cross‑functional teams—engineering, finance, accounting, legal, compliance, risk, and operations—to build reliable systems that validate processor fees, automate reconciliation, identify financial leakage, and maintain regulatory controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the end‑to‑end product strategy, vision, and roadmap for automated payment controllership.
- Work backwards from finance, accounting, customer, operational, and regulatory requirements when defining product priorities.
- Establish a multi‑year plan for expanding automated reconciliation across processors, markets, fee types, and payment products.
- Serve as the single‑threaded leader responsible for product direction, stakeholder alignment, execution, and measurable outcomes.
- Coordinate engineering, finance, accounting, legal, compliance, risk, and operations teams around a shared product plan.
- Define capabilities that validate processor and network charges against contractual rate cards.
- Expand coverage from partial reconciliation toward transaction‑level validation across nearly all relevant payment fees.
- Develop automated reconciliation mechanisms that reduce dependence on manual reviews and spreadsheets.
- Design automated accrual processes that improve financial accuracy and prevent over‑accrual.
- Identify rate‑card drift, incorrect fee configurations, duplicate charges, missing credits, and remittance failures.
- Build preventive controls that detect payment‑fee issues before they develop into material losses.
- Establish real‑time governance mechanisms that surface financial variances and potential leakage.
- Develop workflows that reduce the time required to investigate and resolve payment discrepancies.
- Monitor service‑level agreement compliance across processors, financial partners, and supported markets.
- Translate changing regulatory, audit, risk, and compliance requirements into clear product requirements.
- Prioritize deliverables according to financial exposure, compliance risk, customer impact, coverage, and technical feasibility.
- Work with legal and compliance teams to ensure product controls meet applicable regulatory standards.
- Partner with accounting teams to improve reconciliation, accrual, audit, and financial close processes.
- Collaborate with finance stakeholders to quantify leakage, recovery opportunities, savings, and product value.
- Work closely with engineering teams to define architecture requirements, data flows, controls, integrations, and delivery milestones.
- Evaluate trade‑offs involving coverage, accuracy, implementation speed, system complexity, and operational risk.
- Define metrics covering reconciliation accuracy, processor coverage, fee‑type coverage, financial impact, compliance outcomes, and resolution time.
- Develop dashboards and review mechanisms that provide leadership with clear visibility into product performance.
- Author PR‑FAQs, strategy documents, business reviews, operational reviews, and executive decision papers.
- Present product strategy, risks, investment requirements, and performance results to senior leadership.
- Drive end‑to‑end product delivery from concept through launch, adoption, and optimization.
- Maintain strong product governance while adapting priorities to changing payment, regulatory, and business conditions.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent recognized qualification.
- At least 5 years of experience in product management, program management, product marketing, business development, technology, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience as a product manager or product owner.
- Demonstrated ownership of product roadmap strategy and definition.
- Experience delivering products from initial concept through launch and post‑launch improvement.
- Strong understanding of product requirements, prioritization, dependencies, and delivery trade‑offs.
- Ability to work with engineering teams on complex technology‑enabled products.
- Strong analytical and financial judgment with the ability to assess material business impact.
- Experience interpreting data and using insights to influence product and leadership decisions.
- Ability to simplify complex financial, contractual, accounting, or regulatory requirements.
