Role Context

The Finance Manager will serve as a central FP&A partner for Amazon 's Stores organization across MENA, Türkiye, and South Africa, providing reliable financial insight and maintaining strong control over regional financial performance. The role combines strategic business partnering with detailed ownership of P and L, balance sheet, planning cycles, month-end close, reporting, and data integrity. Its business impact extends beyond finance reporting. The successful candidate will challenge performance variances, influence corrective actions, simplify financial processes, build automation through AI, and ensure leaders have accurate information when making decisions that affect growth, profitability, operating efficiency, and customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a primary FP&A contact for finance and business teams across MENA, Türkiye, and South Africa.
• Build financial models that support planning, strategic decisions, and performance evaluation for the Consumer business.
• Validate financial and operational results before they are used for management reporting and decision-making.
• Maintain strong financial controls and ensure the integrity of planning, reporting, and actuals data.
• Lead month-end close activities with holistic ownership across the P and L and balance sheet.
• Coordinate planning cycles from assumption setting and calendar alignment through system loading and final data validation.
• Maintain controllership over Stores financial results across the supported regions.
• Analyze actual performance against budgets, forecasts, and operating plans.
• Challenge material variances and work with business owners to understand underlying performance drivers.
• Track corrective action plans designed to return financial performance to plan where achievable.
• Partner with Stores Finance, Operations, Payments, Customer Service, Prime, Marketing, and other teams on variance analysis.
• Translate complex financial results into clear recommendations for business and finance leadership.
• Produce accurate, timely, and insightful management reports.
• Identify incomplete or inaccurate financial data, determine root causes, and implement appropriate escalation or remediation plans.
• Apply financial KPIs to evaluate business performance and highlight emerging risks or opportunities.
• Develop an AI-based roadmap for finance automation, process simplification, and improved productivity.
• Identify repetitive finance activities that can be standardized or transferred to global teams.
• Promote global finance standards where they improve consistency, control, and scalability.
• Use large-scale datasets and reporting tools to support complex business analysis.
• Strengthen financial capability across partner teams by sharing knowledge, frameworks, and analytical practices.
• Support talent development within Finance and contribute to building strong finance teams.
• Engage senior leadership with concise financial analysis, business insights, and recommendations.

Ideal Profile

Candidates should bring at least five years of experience in finance, tax, FP&A, controllership, or another analytical discipline. The strongest candidates will have substantial experience developing accurate financial models, solving complex business problems, and producing recommendations that generate measurable financial, operational, or customer benefits. Experience building financial and operational reports or datasets used for management decisions is highly relevant. Candidates should also be comfortable investigating inaccurate or incomplete data, establishing root causes, and implementing escalation plans. Hands-on familiarity with large-scale reporting and data tools such as SQL, MS Access, Essbase, and Cognos is advantageous, as is experience with financial systems including Oracle, SAP, Lawson, or JD Edwards. The role requires confidence working with senior staff and executive-level stakeholders. Strong candidates will combine analytical depth, financial judgment, controllership discipline, and the ability to communicate clearly across diverse business functions.
