Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage financial models that support short‑term and long‑term planning for Amazon Payment Experience initiatives across MENA, South Africa, and Turkey.
- Prepare variance analysis, financial metrics, KPI dashboards, and performance reporting to explain business trends and key financial movements.
- Partner with Amazon Payments commercial teams and business stakeholders to align financial analysis with operational priorities.
- Challenge assumptions, validate business cases, and support data‑driven decisions that improve payments strategy and regional financial outcomes.
- Build trusted relationships with finance, commercial, operations, product, and leadership stakeholders to ensure alignment on financial and business goals.
- Strengthen finance controllership by maintaining accurate models, reports, review mechanisms, and financial processes.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, external policies, financial regulations, tax‑related requirements, and reporting standards.
- Conduct deep‑dive reviews to confirm reporting accuracy, identify anomalies, and improve confidence in financial outputs.
- Perform strategic financial analysis to uncover cost optimization opportunities, process improvements, revenue growth levers, and performance risks.
- Provide clear recommendations that support better payment experience, improved profitability, and stronger financial governance.
- Lead finance projects from planning to completion, managing timelines, priorities, quality checks, progress tracking, and issue resolution with limited supervision.
- Identify opportunities to automate, standardize, simplify, and scale finance tools, reporting workflows, and business processes.
- Manage month‑end close activities, including commentary preparation, financial performance analysis, variance explanations, and risk‑opportunity updates.
- Present findings, business insights, and financial guidance to senior management in a clear and actionable format.
- Perform ad‑hoc financial analysis to support leadership requests, regional initiatives, and emerging business needs.
- Use SQL and business intelligence tools to mine data, validate trends, and develop reliable reporting outputs.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, engineering, mathematics, computer science, or another related analytical field.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in finance, tax, business analysis, financial planning, or a related analytical discipline.
- At least 4 years of experience applying financial KPIs, performance indicators, and business metrics to support decision‑making.
- Experience identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize, or simplify finance and business tools.
- Strong SQL experience for data mining, reporting, financial analysis, and business intelligence.
- Ability to work with financial models, variance analysis, month‑end close, controllership reviews, and management reporting.
- Strong business partnering skills with the confidence to challenge assumptions and influence commercial stakeholders.
- Experience working in fast‑paced, multi‑region, or digital commerce environments is an advantage.
- MBA or CPA qualification is preferred.
- Experience with large‑scale data mining and reporting tools such as SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos, Oracle, SAP, Lawson, or JD Edwards is preferred.
- Strong ownership, attention to detail, analytical thinking, and ability to manage finance projects independently.
- Clear communication skills with the ability to convert complex financial findings into practical business recommendations.
