The role will lead card acquisition, customer engagement, value proposition development, program execution, commercial performance, partner coordination, and business reporting. The successful candidate will work with banking partners, payment stakeholders, and internal Amazon teams to strengthen card adoption and customer loyalty. This role requires deep knowledge of card portfolios, campaign management, financial planning, customer analytics, regulatory compliance, and partnership agreements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute acquisition strategies for Amazon's co-branded card program in the UAE.
- Build customer engagement programs that encourage card activation, repeat usage, retention, and long-term loyalty.
- Maintain and improve the card's customer value proposition based on market conditions, customer behavior, and competitive benchmarks.
- Design initiatives that increase awareness and adoption of card benefits, rewards, and payment features.
- Promote balanced use of the customer value proposition while protecting commercial sustainability.
- Plan and execute seasonal campaigns linked to shopping events, customer needs, and specific business objectives.
- Work with marketing teams to develop targeted card-acquisition and engagement campaigns.
- Analyze customer feedback, transaction behavior, campaign results, and portfolio trends.
- Convert customer insights into actionable improvements to products, rewards, communications, and program processes.
- Monitor the overall health of the co-branded card portfolio.
- Track card acquisition, activation, usage, engagement, retention, rewards redemption, and financial performance.
- Manage program budgets and ensure spending remains aligned with approved commercial objectives.
- Maintain oversight of profit and loss performance and identify opportunities to improve portfolio economics.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual business plans.
- Produce accurate business reports for Amazon leadership and external partner executives.
- Present program performance, financial results, customer trends, risks, and recommended actions to senior stakeholders.
- Ensure the card program complies with applicable policies, contractual obligations, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with legal, compliance, finance, operations, product, and marketing teams to support controlled program execution.
- Develop, negotiate, and execute commercial agreements with external partners.
- Maintain strong working relationships with banks, card issuers, payment providers, and other ecosystem participants.
- Conduct regular benchmarking of regional and international co-branded card programs.
- Evaluate market-leading rewards, acquisition offers, engagement mechanisms, and customer value propositions.
- Identify emerging digital payment trends and recommend opportunities for innovation.
- Drive program improvements through effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and external partners.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, economics, marketing, or a related discipline.
- At least 6 years of experience managing a credit card or debit card portfolio.
- Proven experience leading card acquisition, activation, engagement, retention, or rewards programs.
- Strong understanding of co-branded cards, consumer payments, portfolio economics, and customer lifecycle management.
- Demonstrated experience managing profit and loss performance, program budgets, and business reporting.
- Ability to interpret complex data and convert findings into clear commercial recommendations.
- Experience working in a fast-moving consumer-focused business.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for financial analysis, portfolio tracking, forecasting, and performance reporting.
- Experience developing, negotiating, and executing business agreements.
- Strong commercial judgment and the ability to balance customer value with financial performance.
- Knowledge of digital payments, card networks, payment processing, and transactional risk is advantageous.
- Experience collaborating with banks, financial institutions, payment providers, or card issuers is preferred.
- Ability to influence senior internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong program-management skills with the ability to coordinate several commercial workstreams.
- Excellent written, verbal, analytical, and presentation skills.
- MBA or another relevant postgraduate qualification is preferred.
