Job summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced Resident Engineer to lead large roads and infrastructure projects in Dubai. You will manage staff, coordinate with clients and authorities, and ensure work aligns with plans and safety standards.

Responsibilities include supervising contractors, reviewing drawings and submittals, and maintaining rigorous documentation. On-site leadership and travel to project sites are required for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 20 years of experience in infrastructure engineering, with focus on large-scale projects (Roads, Bridges, Underpasses, Metro and Rail).
• Strong knowledge of infrastructure development, construction methodologies, and quality control processes.
• Excellent project management skills, including budget and schedule management.
• Advanced problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Strong technical report writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the overall delivery of infrastructure packages, ensuring time, cost, quality, safety, and sustainability targets are met.
• Supervise contractors to ensure compliance with approved drawings, technical specs, contract requirements, and milestones.
• Direct the supervision team (Resident Engineers, Inspectors, Surveyors) with on-site inspections and quality/safety oversight.
• Maintain high Health, Safety, and Environmental awareness and compliance with plans and local regulations.
• Identify and resolve technical, construction, and site-related issues to avoid delays and cost impacts.
• Represent AECOM in client, authority, and coordination meetings; prepare and present progress reports, risks, and mitigations.
• Review construction programs, method statements, shop drawings, submittals, and material approvals; provide timely recommendations.
• Monitor progress against baseline and propose recovery actions for slippage.
• Manage variations, scope changes, and claims with input to client and commercial team.
• Develop, implement, and monitor PEP, QMP, and HSP documents.
• Define and track project performance metrics and ensure alignment with quality standards.
