Role Context The Senior Hook-up Engineer will take technical ownership of an assigned discipline during offshore hook-up and completion activities while supporting the Hook-up Lead and Hook-up Manager in overall campaign delivery. The position connects engineering, fabrication, materials, logistics, construction, commissioning, quality, planning, and offshore execution teams. Effective coordination is essential to ensure work fronts are ready, materials are available, interfaces are resolved, and construction activities progress in the correct sequence without compromising safety, quality, or commissioning priorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead discipline-specific engineering preparation for offshore hook-up and completion activities.
• Prepare and review hook-up job cards with clearly defined prerequisites, installation sequences, resources, and completion requirements.
• Ensure job cards are aligned with construction priorities and system turnover expectations.
• Develop the Work Breakdown Structure for assigned discipline scope.
• Review construction work packs and verify compliance with project specifications, approved drawings, and execution requirements.
• Develop discipline hook-up schedules and coordinate sequencing with other engineering and construction disciplines.
• Synchronize planned work with access, materials, manpower, equipment, commissioning priorities, and offshore constraints.
• Participate in pre-engineering surveys, pre-construction surveys, and post-installation surveys.
• Record field conditions and identify technical issues that could affect offshore execution.
• Develop and maintain constructability logs.
• Track constructability actions and coordinate weekly closure with responsible teams.
• Review design Material Take-Off information for completeness and accuracy.
• Verify offshore contingency material quantities before mobilization.
• Review material requisitions against project specifications prior to procurement.
• Coordinate material delivery requirements for fabrication yards, ports, offshore locations, and other project facilities.
• Liaise with warehouse teams to confirm material receipt, availability, inspection status, and Quality clearance.
• Coordinate with fabrication teams for handover of fabricated items and loose project materials.
• Verify material bagging and tagging against approved hook-up job cards and project requirements.
• Confirm that offshore construction crews receive the correct materials in the required sequence.
• Develop detailed hook-up execution plans and discipline-specific construction strategies.
• Support integrated planning for onshore preparation and offshore installation.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and ensure engineering activities meet project deadlines and quality expectations.
• Coordinate closely with Project Management and Procurement teams regarding resources, equipment, materials, and delivery constraints.
• Identify technical and execution risks associated with hook-up activities.

• Monitor daily progress and provide accurate updates to Planning personnel.
• Review progress registers and confirm that reported progress reflects the approved progressing methodology.
• Ensure progress measurement is consistent with hook-up job cards and completed field activities.
• Liaise with Commissioning teams to understand system priorities and turnover requirements.
• Align construction sequencing with commissioning plans to accelerate system completion.
• Coordinate construction support for vendor-related commissioning activities where required.
• Ensure Hook-up Superintendents and offshore construction crews are familiar with scope requirements before mobilization.
• Conduct scope familiarization sessions and clarify technical interfaces before offshore execution begins.
• Travel to offshore locations, fabrication yards, and other onshore facilities when required for coordination and problem resolution.
• Resolve discipline interfaces involving engineering, construction, commissioning, materials, and field execution.
• Review drawings, technical documents, specifications, and field information to identify discrepancies.
• Recommend corrective actions where engineering or construction documentation conflicts with actual site conditions.
• Participate in construction and coordination meetings with multidisciplinary teams and project stakeholders.
• Support rapid resolution of field queries to minimize offshore delays.

Ideal Profile

• Bachelor 's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or another relevant Engineering discipline.
• Equivalent substantial industry experience may be considered where appropriate.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in offshore engineering, hook-up, construction, or related project activities.
• Strong understanding of offshore hook-up methodology and construction sequencing.
• Experience preparing hook-up job cards and reviewing construction work packs.
• Practical knowledge of Work Breakdown Structures and discipline scheduling.
• Experience coordinating materials from requisition through warehouse, fabrication, transport, and offshore delivery.
• Strong understanding of Material Take-Off requirements and contingency planning.
• Experience supporting offshore construction campaigns and completion activities.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with Planning, Procurement, Quality, Fabrication, Logistics, Construction, and Commissioning teams.
