Job Overview

Senior Civil Engineer in Dubai, United Arab Emirates is a strong civil engineering opportunity for infrastructure professionals experienced in stormwater drainage networks, microtunneling works, civil structures, QA/QC procedures, and RTA or Dubai Municipality standards. This role supports the Resident Engineer in supervising construction activities, maintaining quality and safety compliance, coordinating technical interfaces, and ensuring stormwater and microtunneling works are delivered according to approved drawings, specifications, and project schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Resident Engineer in supervising stormwater drainage networks, microtunneling works, and related civil structures.
• Ensure site activities are carried out in line with contract requirements, approved drawings, specifications, RTA standards, Dubai Municipality requirements, quality controls, and project timelines.
• Develop and implement QA/QC procedures for stormwater and microtunneling works, including inspection and test plans, checklists, and method statement controls.
• Conduct inspections for installations and follow up corrective actions to ensure work quality, compliance, and proper documentation.
• Monitor inspector performance and ensure site supervision records, inspection reports, and daily activity updates are complete and accurate.
• Report progress for assigned works to the Resident Engineer and Project Manager for inclusion in project progress reports.
• Review and verify updated site records to support accurate as-built documentation and project close-out requirements.
• Coordinate assigned services and interfaces, including civil, structural, MEP, utilities, drainage, and related infrastructure connections.
• Work with the head office design team on material submittals, design queries, technical clarifications, and potential design adjustments.
• Oversee construction activities for stormwater pipelines, microtunneling drives, shafts, manholes, valve chambers, washout chambers, air valves, and connection chambers.
• Check that construction sequences, approved methodologies, and site execution plans are followed properly.
• Enforce HSE standards and safe work procedures across all assigned site activities.
• Assist in resolving technical site issues and provide input for value engineering or design modification opportunities.
• Review and comment on contractor technical submittals, shop drawings, method statements, progress claims, variation proposals, and change requests.
• Maintain close coordination with the supervision team to achieve quality, safety, progress, and compliance objectives.

Ideal Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Strong experience in stormwater drainage infrastructure, microtunneling works, underground utilities, civil structures, or major infrastructure supervision.
• Practical knowledge of RTA, Dubai Municipality, local authority requirements, QA/QC systems, HSE standards, and site inspection procedures.
• Experience with stormwater pipelines, shafts, manholes, valve chambers, washout chambers, air valves, connection chambers, and associated civil works.
• Ability to review shop drawings, technical submittals, method statements, material submissions, inspection records, and as-built documentation.
• Strong coordination skills across resident engineering teams, design teams, contractors, inspectors, MEP teams, and project managers.
• Able to identify site risks, technical conflicts, quality issues, and progress delays early and support practical solutions.
• Detail-focused, organized, and confident in supervising complex infrastructure works under strict quality and safety requirements.
• Good communication and reporting skills with the ability to support project decisions through clear technical input.
