Role Summary

Senior Civil Engineer in Dubai will support the Resident Engineer in supervising and managing construction of stormwater drainage networks, microtunneling works, shafts, chambers, pipelines, and associated civil structures for AECOM infrastructure projects. The role requires strong site supervision experience, QA/QC knowledge, technical coordination skills, and the ability to ensure all civil works comply with contract requirements, approved drawings, specifications, RTA standards, Dubai Municipality standards, quality procedures, HSE requirements, and project schedule objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Resident Engineer in supervising stormwater drainage networks, microtunneling works, and associated civil infrastructure activities.
• Ensure all site activities are completed in line with contract requirements, approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and authority standards.
• Develop, implement, and monitor QA/QC procedures for stormwater and microtunneling works.
• Review and support inspection and test plans, method statements, and site quality procedures.
• Conduct and follow up on inspections for civil installations to confirm compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Monitor inspectors' performance and ensure effective supervision, accurate reporting, and proper documentation of site activities.
• Update and report progress for assigned works to the Resident Engineer or Project Manager for inclusion in project progress reports.
• Review and verify updated site records to support accurate preparation of as‑built documentation.
• Check, verify, and coordinate assigned services, including civil, structural, and MEP interface requirements.
• Coordinate with the head office design team for material submittal reviews, design queries, technical clarifications, and engineering support.
• Oversee construction activities for stormwater pipelines, microtunneling drives, shafts, manholes, valve chambers, washout chambers, air valves, and connection chambers.
• Ensure construction activities follow approved sequence, methodology, safety procedures, and project quality requirements.
• Maintain strict adherence to HSE standards and safe work practices during all site activities.
• Support the Resident Engineer in resolving site technical issues and reviewing potential design modifications or value engineering opportunities.
• Review and comment on contractor technical submittals, shop drawings, material submissions, and method statements related to stormwater and microtunneling systems.
• Ensure all works comply with RTA, Dubai Municipality, and other applicable UAE authority requirements.
• Assist in evaluating contractor progress claims, variation proposals, change requests, and related technical supporting documents.
• Coordinate closely with the supervision team to ensure quality, safety, progress, and documentation objectives are consistently achieved.
• Identify construction risks, non‑conformances, coordination issues, and delays, then support corrective actions to maintain smooth project delivery.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Strong experience in civil infrastructure construction supervision, especially stormwater drainage, microtunneling, pipelines, chambers, and associated structures.
• Experience supporting Resident Engineers on major infrastructure, utilities, drainage, or roads‑related civil works projects.
• Good knowledge of RTA, Dubai Municipality, and UAE authority requirements for infrastructure construction.
• Strong understanding of QA/QC procedures, inspection and test plans, method statements, site inspections, technical submittals, and construction documentation.
• Ability to review shop drawings, material submittals, contractor submissions, method statements, progress records, and as‑built documentation.
• Practical knowledge of microtunneling drives, shafts, manholes, valve chambers, washout chambers, air valves, connection chambers, and stormwater pipeline installation.
• Ability to coordinate civil, structural, and MEP interfaces with contractors, supervision teams, and design teams.
• Strong site inspection, progress monitoring, reporting, documentation, and technical problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to support review of claims, variations, change requests, and technical justifications.
• Strong communication and coordination skills with the ability to work effectively with contractors, inspectors, project managers, design teams, and authority stakeholders.
• UAE infrastructure project experience is strongly preferred.
