Senior Civil Engineer - AECOM - Dubai, UAE

Position Overview
This Senior Civil Engineer role with AECOM Dubai supports the Resident Engineer in supervising stormwater drainage networks, microtunneling works, and associated civil infrastructure. The position ensures that all works comply with approved drawings, specifications, and authority standards, while maintaining strict quality, safety, and schedule performance throughout construction.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement QA/QC procedures including ITPs and method statements for stormwater and microtunneling works.
• Conduct inspections for stormwater pipelines, shafts, manholes, chambers, and microtunneling activities.
• Monitor inspectors' performance and ensure accurate documentation of site activities.
• Report progress updates to the Resident Engineer or Project Manager.
• Verify accuracy of records for preparation of as‑built documentation.
• Coordinate civil, structural, and MEP interfaces on‑site.
• Liaise with the design team for material submittals, clarifications, and technical queries.
• Inspect construction activities including deep pipes, NDRC crossings, large‑diameter installations, and chambers.
• Enforce strict HSE compliance and safe construction practices.
• Support the Resident Engineer in resolving site technical issues and design clarifications.
• Review and comment on contractors' technical submittals, shop drawings, and method statements.
• Ensure full compliance with RTA, DM, and local authority requirements.
• Assist in evaluating contractor claims, variations, and change requests.
• Maintain coordination between site teams to ensure quality, safety, and progress goals are met.

Ideal Profile & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in stormwater and microtunneling supervision.
• Strong experience with deep pipeline installations (600mm to4000mm), shafts, chambers, and NDRC crossings.
• UAE experience is essential, especially with Dubai authority procedures (RTA, DM, DEWA).
• Proven ability to manage site teams and coordinate effectively with contractors and clients.
• Strong technical understanding of stormwater and civil infrastructure construction.
• Excellent problem‑solving, reporting, and coordination abilities.
