Position Overview
AECOM is seeking an experienced Electrical and Mechanical Inspector to support stormwater drainage systems, pumping stations, and associated infrastructure projects in Dubai. The role involves on‑site inspection and supervision of electrical and mechanical works to ensure full compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and local authority requirements. This position plays a critical role in maintaining construction quality, safety, and coordination across multidisciplinary infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out daily inspection of electrical and mechanical installations including pumps, motors, control panels, cabling, piping, valves, and related systems
- Ensure all installations comply with approved shop drawings, method statements, technical specifications, and project standards
- Monitor installation, alignment, testing, and commissioning of pumping station electrical and mechanical systems
- Inspect cable routing, containment systems, terminations, earthing, and control wiring in line with applicable codes and standards
- Supervise installation of mechanical piping networks, valves, fittings, and support systems for stormwater infrastructure
- Verify that all electrical and mechanical materials and equipment are approved, properly stored, and handled in accordance with specifications
- Witness and document testing and commissioning activities including insulation resistance, continuity tests, performance tests, and functional checks
- Monitor HVAC, lighting, power, control, and instrumentation works within pumping stations and utility structures
- Review as‑built information, coordinate redline updates with contractors, and ensure accuracy of final documentation
- Ensure QA QC procedures, inspection requests, and inspection and test plans are fully implemented and recorded
- Support Senior Engineers and the Resident Engineer in issuing site observations, NCRs, and verifying corrective actions
- Check calibration certificates and testing instruments used by contractors for compliance
- Monitor health and safety practices during electrical and mechanical activities and report any non‑compliance
- Maintain daily records of manpower, equipment usage, and material deliveries related to M and E works
- Participate in coordination meetings and liaise with other disciplines to resolve interface and site issues
Ideal Profile
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering from a recognized institution
- Minimum 7 years of experience in inspection and supervision of electrical and mechanical works for stormwater, drainage, or pumping station projects
- Proven experience in installation, testing, and commissioning of pumps, valves, switchgear, control panels, and mechanical systems
- Prior UAE experience, preferably in Dubai, working under RTA and Dubai Municipality standards
- Knowledge of international standards such as IEC, NFPA, and ASHRAE, and local authority regulations including RTA, DM, DEWA, and Civil Defense
- Certification in construction supervision or QA QC inspection is an advantage
