- Prepare utility layouts, longitudinal profiles, cross‑sections, routing plans, assemblies, flow sheets, isometrics, and component details.
- Build and update utility pipe network models using Autodesk Civil3D.
- Work with BIM managers, design leads, and engineers to confirm design requirements, priorities, and submission dates.
- Coordinate design inputs received from civil, structural, roads, drainage, electrical, mechanical, and utility teams.
- Notify relevant disciplines of missing information, modelling conflicts, and unresolved interfaces.
- Perform clash detection and model‑based coordination using Navisworks.
- Record coordination issues, monitor assigned actions, and verify the implementation of agreed solutions.
- Resolve clashes involving existing services, proposed utilities, road corridors, structures, drainage systems, and right‑of‑way constraints.
- Manage BIM activities from project setup through model production, review, submission, revision, and closeout.
- Apply project‑specific BIM standards, file naming conventions, modelling procedures, and information exchange protocols.
- Review drawings for technical clarity, readability, presentation, annotation, and compliance with company standards.
- Follow established quality assurance and quality control procedures before issuing any model or drawing.
- Create parametric and non‑parametric families, templates, blocks, and reusable digital content.
- Generate model schedules, quantity reports, and other structured information required by design teams.
- Support submissions to clients, stakeholders, DEWA, Dubai Municipality, RTA, and other approving authorities.
- Apply appropriate Level of Development requirements to each model element and project phase.
- Maintain accurate records of design amendments, drawing revisions, coordination comments, approvals, and issue histories.
- Use Autodesk Forma, Bentley ProjectWise, or other approved Common Data Environment platforms for controlled information exchange.
- Organise and archive completed drawings, models, reports, schedules, and related technical files.
- Coordinate with engineers and team leads to resolve discrepancies between drawings, models, calculations, and site information.
- Develop custom CAD tools, templates, workspaces, or automated processes to improve productivity.
- Prepare right‑of‑way information, utility corridors, cross‑sections, and coordinated routing plans.
- Support technical training and knowledge‑sharing activities within the CAD and BIM team.
- Monitor assigned tasks across multiple projects and deliver outputs within agreed deadlines.
- Ensure all digital information remains complete, traceable, current, and suitable for future reference or audit.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or a related technical field.
- Minimum 10 years of CAD drafting and BIM experience in the UAE or wider Middle East and Africa region.
- At least 3 years of direct experience in utility pipe network modelling.
- Strong background in wet and dry utility infrastructure projects.
- Advanced capability in AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil3D, and Navisworks.
- Practical knowledge of Autodesk Forma and Bentley ProjectWise.
- Familiarity with MicroStation preferred.
- Detailed understanding of BIM production workflows and Level of Development requirements.
- Experience managing design information within a Common Data Environment.
