Working closely with BIM Leads, Design Leads, and Engineers, the technician will help maintain model quality from project setup through final delivery. Accurate coordination, disciplined document control, and effective clash detection will help reduce design conflicts, improve constructability, and provide dependable digital information for downstream engineering and construction activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with BIM Leads and Design Leads to ensure project models and drawings comply with established BIM policies, workflows, and delivery requirements.
- Develop engineering drawings including layouts, arrangements, flow sheets, assemblies, isometrics, and detailed components.
- Convert engineering sketches, design information, and technical inputs into accurate CAD drawings and BIM models.
- Support BIM activities throughout the project lifecycle from initial model setup through coordination and final completion.
- Prepare wet utility models and drawings covering water, sewerage, drainage, and associated infrastructure networks.
- Assist with dry utility interfaces and multidisciplinary infrastructure coordination where required.
- Review drawings for readability, technical accuracy, presentation quality, and compliance with project standards.
- Apply company QA-QC procedures before drawings and model information are submitted or issued.
- Create parametric and non-parametric BIM families required for project development.
- Coordinate with engineers and other disciplines to resolve model conflicts and design interface issues.
- Use Autodesk Navisworks to perform clash detection and prepare clash reports for multidisciplinary coordination.
- Apply appropriate LOD requirements according to the project stage and BIM execution requirements.
- Produce schedules, quantities, and other structured information directly from coordinated models.
- Maintain drawing and model revisions within approved Common Data Environment workflows.
- Support information management through ProjectWise and BIM360.
- Update models and drawings following engineering reviews, coordination meetings, and approved design changes.
- Maintain consistency between CAD documentation, BIM models, schedules, and supporting engineering information.
- Help deliver assigned digital engineering outputs within agreed project deadlines.
Ideal Profile
- Candidates should hold a Bachelor 's degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 4 years of CAD drafting experience within the Middle East or UAE is required, with particular exposure to wet and dry utility infrastructure projects.
