Job summary

Tanqeeb is seeking a logistics professional to manage end-to-end freight forwarding operations in the UAE. The role requires coordinating shipments, documents, and payments, with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness across all steps from pre-alerts to post-delivery archival.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Logistics or Supply Chain, 2+ years in UAE freight forwarding (import preferred), and proficiency with CargoWise and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain or related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years in freight forwarding in the UAE (import preferred).
• Proficiency with CargoWise is an advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Update daily shipments with ETA and transshipment status.
• Cross-check pre-alert documents (HBL/MBL/Cost sheet/Agent INV).
• Send CAN 2 days before arrival; for cash customers, send proforma INV.
• Coordinate with Accounts for payment requests.
• Release DO 1 day before arrival after receiving original BL.
• Prepare documents for clearance and DPC upon BE from customs.
• Arrange customs inspections with required documents.
• Follow up with customers to update clearance status.
• Submit original documents to clearance on time with customs acknowledgment.
• Coordinate customs deposit and exit duty refunds; issue credit notes.
• Issue duty invoices after BE clearance.
• Handle payment issues with CS/shipping lines.
• Follow up with shipping line INV 2 days before arrival; verify with cost sheet.
• Coordinate with transport team for on-time delivery and obtain POD.
• Seek approvals for storage/additional charges before carrier payment.
• For key corporate accounts, send updates and tracker daily.
• Close jobs after delivery; archive documents in TMS.

Job description

• The updates for all the shipments assigned to operations are sent on daily basis with ETA/ transshipment
• Cross check the pre alert documents received from CS (HBL/ MBL/ Cost sheet/Agent INV)
• Cargo arrival notice to be sent 2 days prior to the shipment arrival and if cash customer, proforma INV to be sent along with the CAN to CS.
• Follow the timelines for payment request with accounts for do collection
• Delivery order for the shipment is released 1 day prior to the arrival on receipt of original BL from the customer. Any delays in issuing the Do should be escalated to team leader/ department head immediately
• For clearance and delivery jobs, documents are collected before arrival of the shipment and DPC to be processed upon the receipt of bill of entry from customs team.
• Any customs inspection, to be booked and arranged with the required documents
• Regular follow up on calls should be done with the customer to update the clearance status and have service review
• Original document should be submitted to clearance team on time with email acknowledgment from customs team to avoid fine.
• Follow up for customs deposit and exit duty refund if any and pass over the credit note to the customer
• Duty invoices to be issued and sent to the customer / CS as soon as the BE is passed for customer to make the payment
• Any payment related to issues with CS/ shipping lines should be sorted proactively
• Shipping line INV to be followed up 2 days prior to the shipment arrival and cross check with the cost estimated in JOB and cost sheet provided by the CS
• Coordinate with transport team on delivery of the shipment on time and seek POD
• Any storage or additional charges, seek approval from team before we make the payment with the carrier
• For key corporate accounts managed individually updates and tracker should be sent daily
• No cost should be posted wrong or incomplete when the job is handed over for closing. Remarks to be mentioned mandatory on File handover date / MEBT ref
• JOBS to be closed as soon as the delivery is completed and all the documents to be scanned in ARCHIVE in TMS.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain or a similar discipline
• Minimum 2 year of working experience in the freight forwarding industry in the UAE (preferably in import); Proficiency using CargoWise is an advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word and power point)
• Ability to communicate fluently
