The Sales & Data Analyst is a key business partner to Commercial and Finance teams, responsible for transforming complex commercial and financial data into clear insights, strong business decks, and decision-ready recommendations.
The role sits at the intersection of sales performance, P&L management, and strategic planning, with direct access to commercial and financial systems.
The Analyst will not only report what happened, but explain why it happened, what it means, and what to do next, helping commercial teams improve execution and profitability across markets and channels.
This is a high-visibility role working closely with senior management and contributing directly to business decisions.
Core Responsibilities
1. Commercial Performance & Market Intelligence
- Analyze sales performance by channel, brand, customer, and market, identifying growth opportunities, risks, and execution gaps.
- Monitor in-season performance vs. budget and forecast, highlighting deviations and proposing corrective actions.
- Deep-dive on sell-in, sell-out, stock levels, rotation, margin, and product mix to support better commercial decisions.
- Track market trends and customer behavior to support strategic commercial planning.
2. Financials (Commercial Perspective)
- Prepare and monitor P&L analyses by channel, brand, and key customers, working closely with Finance.
- Identify profitability drivers, cost sensitivities, and margin improvement levers.
- Support scenario planning, business simulations, and investment cases for commercial initiatives.
- Contribute to the commercial budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring alignment between sales plans and financial targets.
3. Business Decks, Dashboards & Decision Tools
- Build high-quality business decks, executive summaries, and structured analyses for leadership meetings and partner presentations.
- Develop and maintain scorecards and dashboards covering KPIs such as revenue, margin, sell-through, stock, ROI, and productivity.
- Turn large datasets into clear, visual, and actionable insights, not just tables.
- Standardize reporting tools to improve transparency and speed of decision-making.
4. Cross-Functional Business Partnering
- Act as a daily interface between Commercial, Finance, Merchandising, and Allocation teams.
- Ensure data consistency and alignment between commercial and financial views of the business.
- Proactively challenge assumptions with facts and propose data-driven solutions.
- Present insights and recommendations to management in a clear, confident, and business-oriented way.

Background & Skills
- Degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Data Science, Management Engineering or similar.
- Experience in Sales Analysis, Business Analysis, FP&A or Commercial Finance; fashion/retail/lifestyle is a strong plus.
- Strong command of Excel and PowerPoint; experience with ERP and financial systems (JDE, MicroStrategy, etc.).
- Solid understanding of P&L logic, margin mechanics, and commercial KPIs.
- Strong business curiosity — wants to understand how money is really made in retail and wholesale.
- Comfortable working with both numbers and people: can challenge commercial teams while partnering with finance.
- Able to simplify complexity and communicate insights, not just data.
