Job summary

AECOM is seeking an Assistant Resident Engineer in the UAE to support roads construction supervision. You will work with AECOM's discipline engineers, advise on engineering matters, review submittals, monitor progress, and ensure compliance with safety and project specifications.

With a 15-year civil engineering background and a proven track record on complex sewer projects, you will lead inspections, coordinate with contractors, and help resolve technical issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with 15 years of experience in Construction Supervision and Management.
• Proven track record managing complex sewer system projects with in-depth knowledge of relevant codes and regulations.
• Strong leadership, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills, able to make critical decisions under pressure.
• Commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards in all aspects of work.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve contractors' submittals including shop drawings, method statements and materials as delegated by the Resident Engineer.
• Oversee inspectors' daily activities, review their reports, and guide supervision of contractor operations.
• Coordinate with contractors' supervisory personnel regarding schedule, sequence and method of work.
• Monitor project progress, identify delays, and recommend recovery actions.
• Ensure high quality of works during construction, with strict compliance with Employers Requirements, Project Specifications and Safety Requirements.
• Review contractors' design for compliance with Employers Requirements, Authority Requirements, End-User Requirements and Standards.
• Prepare and submit daily and weekly progress reports to the Resident Engineer.
• Participate in construction meetings and assist in resolving construction problems.
• Review as-built drawings and assist in punch list preparation.
• Perform claims analysis and evaluate contractors' personnel, equipment, materials and subcontractors.
