Role Overview
The Project Architect/Design Manager is responsible for managing the end-to-end design and delivery of large-scale architectural projects, ensuring quality, efficiency, and client satisfaction while leading a multidisciplinary team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's/Master's in Architecture.
- 8+ years post-qualification experience, including 2-3 years leading teams on large-scale projects (commercial, mixed-use, hospitality, leisure, entertainment).
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Navisworks; familiarity with ACC; skilled in presentation tools (e.g., InDesign).
- Ability to work directly in native 3D authoring tools.
- Strong knowledge of drafting standards, detailing, material specs, buildability, and theming integration.
- Working knowledge of mechanical systems (HVAC, lighting, fire & safety), structural/architectural details, building & accessibility codes, and construction processes.
- Experience with construction administration (RFIs, submittals, field observation).
- Strong organizational and communication abilities.
- Skilled in supervising, mentoring, and developing staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead project design and delivery from concept to handover, coordinating with architects, designers, engineers, vendors, and fabricators.
- Optimize design and production quality control systems.
- Develop and manage project programs, schedules, and deliverables for internal and client needs.
- Represent the company in client-facing roles including presentations and workshops.
- Ensure project direction aligns with client expectations and deliverables.
- Review, QA/QC, and approve drawings, ensuring compliance with standards and buildability.
- Streamline design and delivery processes with management and mentor team members.
- Manage project documentation (RFIs, NCRs, design changes) while protecting scope, cost, and schedule.
