Job summary

Millennium Hotels and Resorts MEA is seeking a Commis I – Pastry to assist in the preparation and production of pastries, cakes, desserts, and other sweet creations. You will learn pastry techniques, support senior pastry chefs, and help keep the pastry kitchen clean and organized.

Responsibilities include daily preparation, following recipes and SOPs, ensuring quality, freshness, taste, and presentation, maintaining hygiene, and rotating ingredients by FIFO.

• Assist in daily preparation and production of pastries, cakes, and desserts.
• Follow recipes, portion sizes, and SOPs.
• Ensure quality, freshness, taste, and presentation.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry section.
• Follow food safety and sanitation standards.
• Store, label, and rotate ingredients according to FIFO.
• Monitor stock levels and inform supervisor of shortages.
• Assist senior chefs with menu prep, buffet setup, and events.
• Minimize waste and ensure efficient use of ingredients.
• Adhere to Pastry Chef instructions and complete duties on time.
• Ensure equipment is safe and well maintained.
• Comply with company policies and health & safety regulations.
