Job summary

InterContinental Dubai Marina Hotel & Residences is seeking a Commis II (Pastry) to join our luxury kitchen team. You will support the culinary brigade in preparing exquisite pastries, assist with mise en place, and help ensure smooth operation during busy service in a five-star hotel setting.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a commis chef in a hotel or restaurant.
• Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Passionate about food and cooking with a keen learning mindset.
• Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Support the Culinary team in preparing dishes and mise en place.
• Assist with meat preparation and portioning according to standards.
• Ensure proper handling, labeling, storage and temp control per HACCP.
• Help with food pickup, ensuring efficiency and quality while following HACCP.
• Assist Demi Chef De Parties and Chef De Parties in daily operations.
• Maintain equipment and workstations clean and safe.
• Monitor quality and freshness of meat products and report concerns.
• Keep kitchen and butchery area organized and compliant with regulations.
• Contribute to creating world-class dishes in a fast-paced kitchen.
