Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Petroleum, or related field. Certifications advantageous.

Job description

Engineer (Piping/Mechanical)

We are looking for a highly skilled Engineer (Piping/Mechanical) to support the engineering, installation, testing, commissioning, and successful delivery of complex Oil & Gas EPC projects. This role offers the opportunity to work on large-scale multidisciplinary projects involving piping systems, mechanical equipment, pipelines, and process facilities across the energy and infrastructure sectors.

YOUR ROLE

• Piping System Design & Engineering Design and develop detailed engineering solutions for piping systems in compliance with ASME, API, ANSI, and project-specific standards. Review and interpret P&IDs, piping layouts, isometrics, and construction drawings. Perform piping stress analysis, flow calculations, and engineering evaluations. Develop technical specifications for pipes, valves, fittings, supports, and associated mechanical components. Ensure piping systems are designed for optimal safety, reliability, and operational efficiency.
• Material Selection & Procurement Support Select appropriate piping materials based on pressure, temperature, corrosion resistance, and process requirements. Prepare material requisitions, technical evaluations, and procurement documentation. Coordinate with procurement teams and vendors to ensure timely material delivery. Support material inspections and ensure proper storage and handling practices on site.
• Installation & Construction Support Provide technical guidance during piping fabrication, installation, and construction activities. Review and approve installation methodologies and work procedures. Coordinate with site engineers, contractors, and construction teams to resolve technical issues. Monitor welding, fabrication, material control, and installation activities to ensure compliance with approved standards and specifications. Participate in site inspections and construction progress reviews.
• Testing & Inspection Supervise hydrostatic, pneumatic, pressure, and leak testing activities. Review test packages and ensure successful execution of all testing requirements. Conduct inspections and assess piping system integrity and compliance. Ensure all identified defects, punch‑list items, and non‑conformities are rectified promptly. Verify that testing documentation meets client and regulatory requirements.
• Commissioning & Handover Support and supervise pre-commissioning and commissioning activities. Ensure piping systems are fully operational and compliant with project specifications. Collaborate with commissioning teams to achieve successful system startup. Review and validate as‑built drawings, inspection records, and turnover documentation. Ensure smooth project handover to clients and operations teams.
• Project Coordination & Stakeholder Management Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers, Designers, QA/QC personnel, and Procurement teams. Provide technical updates and engineering support throughout project execution. Coordinate multidisciplinary activities to ensure seamless project delivery. Monitor engineering deliverables, schedules, budgets, and project milestones.
• Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with HSE regulations and company policies. Participate in risk assessments, hazard identification, and mitigation planning. Promote a strong safety culture throughout engineering and construction phases. Support HSE audits, inspections, and compliance initiatives.
• Documentation & Reporting Maintain complete engineering and project documentation. Prepare technical reports, calculations, specifications, and progress updates. Track project schedules, resources, and engineering deliverables. Ensure accurate record keeping for regulatory, client, and internal requirements.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Experience

• Must have 6-8 years of experience in piping and mechanical engineering within the Oil & Gas EPC industry. Proven experience in piping design, installation, testing, commissioning, and construction support. Experience working on large-scale EPC projects in Oil & Gas, Power, Marine, Industrial Plant, or Infrastructure sectors.

Education and Certifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related discipline. Professional certifications in Piping, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields are advantageous.

Skills and Competencies

• Strong knowledge of international standards including: ASME, API, ANSI, Relevant industry codes and regulations. Proficiency in: Auto CAD, Smart Plant 3D, Other piping design and drafting software Experience with: P&ID reviews, Material selection, Stress analysis, Pipe flow calculations, Pipeline and process piping systems Strong understanding of piping materials including: Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, HDPE, Other specialty piping materials Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Excellent technical and engineering judgment. Effective stakeholder management and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities within fast‑paced project environments. Strong commitment to quality, safety, and operational excellence.
