Job summary

IDCMPS is seeking a Piping Engineering Lead based in Abu Dhabi to oversee piping design and engineering activities for Oil & Gas projects. The candidate will ensure compliance with industry standards and specifications while managing key engineering deliverables.

The role requires at least 11 years of experience in piping design and engineering, including supervisory experience. Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and familiarity with relevant design software.

Qualifications

Job Description

We are seeking a Piping Engineering Lead to manage piping design and engineering activities for Oil & Gas projects, ensuring full compliance with international codes, project specifications, safety standards, and company HSE requirements. The role involves preparing and reviewing piping layouts, isometrics, stress analysis inputs, material specifications, and other key engineering deliverables across all project phases, as well as supervising fabrication, installation, testing, and commissioning activities. The candidate will provide technical support during construction, participate in bid evaluations, technical reviews, contractor meetings, and design clarifications, and coordinate closely with multidisciplinary teams including process, mechanical, civil, electrical, and HSE disciplines to ensure integrated, efficient, and cost-effective engineering solutions while delivering projects within schedule and budget.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent; PMP or MBA preferred.
• Minimum 11+ years of Oil & Gas experience in piping design and engineering, including at least 5 years in a supervisory role, with recent Abu Dhabi experience (within 3 years).
• Strong knowledge of ASME, API, ASTM, ANSI, and ISO standards.
• Proficient in piping design, layouts, and construction methodologies, with experience in SmartPlant 3D, PDMS, AutoCAD Plant 3D, and CAESAR II.
• Familiar with process systems, equipment, and HSE requirements.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and time management skills.
