Role Overview

Principal Piping Engineer hiring opportunity in Dubai, UAE within the Oil and Energy industry for senior engineering professionals experienced in FEED, detailed design, and EPC project execution. This role leads piping engineering design, technical decision-making, and discipline management across major offshore and onshore projects while ensuring compliance with engineering standards, project schedules, and operational safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform conceptual, FEED, and detailed piping design analysis according to project scope, specifications, design basis, and international codes
• Prepare detailed design calculations, technical reports, and engineering procedures for piping systems
• Lead technical solutions for complex piping engineering challenges and recommend best practices for improved project delivery
• Manage discipline schedules, resource forecasting, and engineering execution within approved budgets
• Review and approve piping design philosophies, specifications, pipe supports, standard drawings, MTOs, and material requisitions
• Coordinate with project management, procurement, construction teams, and multidisciplinary engineering groups for smooth execution
• Interface with High-Value Engineering Centers and ensure clear understanding of scope and deliverables
• Support 3D model reviews at 30 percent, 60 percent, and 90 percent progress stages
• Monitor discipline KPIs and implement corrective actions for performance improvement
• Participate in internal and external project audits, technical reviews, and change management activities
• Prepare piping man-hour estimates, discipline forecasts, execution plans, and deliverables schedules
• Lead medium to large engineering and design teams when assigned as Lead Engineer
• Support proposals, studies, and technical evaluations for new project opportunities
• Prepare ISO curves based on project schedule inputs and coordinate discipline dependencies across execution plans

Ideal Profile

• Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 15 years of experience as a Piping Engineer in oil and gas with major EPC contractors
• Strong experience in Conceptual, FEED, and detailed design phases
• Previous Lead Piping Engineer experience on FEED and EPC projects in multi-office execution environments
• Deep knowledge of piping sub-disciplines including design and modeling, pipe stress and support, piping material engineering, and MTO activities
• Strong familiarity with international codes and standards including ANSI, ASME, API, BS, and NFPA
• Experience with SP3D, E3D, and Navisworks is preferred
• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project contracts
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex project coordination
• Flexible for international business travel when required
