Job summary

Target Engineering Construction Co LLC in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Technical Engineer (Electrical, Civil, or Piping) to support large-scale Oil & Gas EPC projects. You will contribute to design, technical office operations, site execution, testing, commissioning, and client coordination.

The role requires 6–8 years in Oil & Gas or related sectors, a Bachelor’s in Electrical/Civil/Piping engineering, and professional certifications.

Qualifications

• 6–8 years of experience in engineering or technical office within Oil & Gas / EPC sectors.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil, or Piping engineering; master's is a plus.
• Professional Engineering licensure or similar certifications such as PE, PMP are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize engineering designs, calculations, drawings, and technical documents.

Technical Engineer (Electrical-Civil-Piping)

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Technical Engineer specializing in Electrical, Civil, or Piping Engineering to support the successful delivery of large-scale Oil & Gas EPC projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in engineering design, technical office operations, project execution, testing and commissioning, stakeholder coordination, and compliance management.

This position offers the opportunity to work on multidisciplinary projects involving oil & gas facilities, industrial plants, power, marine, and infrastructure developments.

YOUR ROLE

As Technical Engineer, you will be responsible in the performance of the following but not limited to duties and responsibilities;

Engineering & Technical Office

• Develop, review, and optimize engineering designs, calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical documents relevant to the respective discipline.
• Conduct technical reviews, feasibility studies, and engineering assessments to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure design integration and constructability.
• Ensure compliance with international codes, client specifications, and project quality standards.

Installation & Project Execution

• Support and oversee site activities related to construction, installation, and project execution.
• Monitor contractors and subcontractors to ensure quality workmanship, safety compliance, and adherence to project schedules.
• Perform site inspections and technical evaluations to verify compliance with approved designs and specifications.
• Assist in resolving technical challenges encountered during project execution.

Testing & Commissioning

• Participate in pre-commissioning, commissioning, and performance testing activities.
• Troubleshoot technical and operational issues during project startup and commissioning phases.
• Prepare testing documentation, reports, and handover packages.
• Support client inspections and project acceptance processes.

Maintenance & Technical Support

• Provide technical expertise for operational and maintenance activities.
• Investigate system failures and identify root causes to implement corrective actions.
• Support preventive maintenance initiatives to enhance equipment and system reliability.
• Recommend engineering improvements and optimization opportunities.

Stakeholder & Project Coordination

• Collaborate closely with engineering, construction, QA/QC, HSE, procurement, and project management teams.
• Interface with clients, consultants, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
• Participate in technical meetings, progress reviews, and project planning activities.
• Ensure alignment between engineering deliverables and project objectives.

Compliance & Documentation

• Maintain accurate engineering records, reports, calculations, inspections, and project documentation.
• Ensure compliance with HSE policies, industry regulations, and company procedures.
• Support audits, inspections, and implementation of corrective actions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across projects.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Experience

• Minimum 6-8 years of experience in Engineering or Technical Office functions within the Oil & Gas, EPC, Petrochemical, Energy, Power, Industrial, or Heavy Construction sectors.
• Proven experience supporting projects from engineering and design through construction, commissioning, and handover.
• Experience working on large-scale multidisciplinary projects is highly preferred.

Education and Certifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering (Piping), or a related engineering discipline is required.
• Master's Degree or relevant specialization is an advantage.
• Professional Engineering License or relevant certifications such as Chartered Engineer, PMP, or equivalent are preferred.
• Safety certifications such as NEBOSH, OSHA, or equivalent are highly desirable.

Skills and Competencies

• Strong knowledge of engineering principles, construction methodologies, and industry standards.
• Familiarity with international codes and regulations applicable to Oil & Gas EPC projects.
• Strong project coordination and technical leadership capabilities.
• Experience using engineering and project management software.
